We have all seen these electronic belts on television that claim to help
grow muscles. Today, we will talk about these in depth. Before we do so,
you should be warned about these things.
Don't use one of these devices if you are pregnant. It might have an
effect on the babies heart beat.
Don't use it your chest. If you use it on your chest, it might cause a
cardiac arrest. Let's keep it simple. If you put it on your chest, it
could kill you.
Now that we got all of that out of the way. There are many EMS
(Electronic Muscle Stimulator) systems on the market. Some are in the
form of a belt, while others look more like those things they put on you
at the hospital to check your heart.
The idea behind these are, the shock makes the muscles expand and
contract. Thus, giving the muscle a workout. Sounds pretty simple
doesn't it?
Do these things work? Well, it sure sounds like an easy way to get a good
workout. I mean, putting a belt on isn't that hard. Anyone can do that.
I really don't believe these things work. Especially the ones that are
advertised on television. Why don't I believe they work? Because the
ones on television don't have enough power. They don't jolt the muscle
enough to amount to much of anything. It might make you feel like you
worked out mentally, but that is all in your head. You can give me 29.95
and I can convince you that you worked out when you didn't too.
I don't think that these machines don't have a purpose. Sometimes a
doctor will prescribe them in cases of bad back pains, poor circulation,
muscle spasms, or aches and pains. These also tend to be the more
expensive units, not the cheap belts that you see advertised.
If your doctor tells you to use one of these, then I would do so. I would
read the directions and follow them. Never use something like this
without fully understanding how to use it. You could end up causing some
serious problems if you do.
Everyone these days it seems are looking for an easy way out. They want
to have the body of a body builder, without any of the work. That doesn't
happen in life. I am glad that it doesn't. Be pissed off at me, but you
will see why.
I think the best aspect of training is the discipline that you have to
learn. You have to learn how to put your goals a head of everything
else. It teaches you how to juggle the responsibilities of life and still
be able to get the outcome that you want. This is an important lesson.
If you are looking for an easy way out, I would suggest that you
re-evaluate your life. Chances are this attitude has caused you problems
in the past. It might even be holding you back in your career.
The point is, is this... If you haven't learned this far into life that
anything worthwhile is something that is the result of hard work, you need
to wake up. Wake up and smell the protein powder in your breakfast shake!
That maybe harsh, but it is true. Nothing in life that is worthy, is
easy. I mean nothing. If you are looking for one of these belts to do a
miracle on you, I suggest you rethink a few things. Maybe you should stop
working out all together or you should learn responsibility and how to set
goals properly. |
